    Qualifications & Experience

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent experience, demonstrating a strong foundation in computer systems and security principles.
    • Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISM, CEH, Security+, GSEC, or similar, indicating expertise in security management and governance.
    • Strong IT background with experience in Linux and/or network administration, showcasing hands-on skills and knowledge of operating systems and network protocols.
    • Proficiency with firewalls, proxies, SIEM, IDPS, and vulnerability management tools like Greenbone, Nessus, and Intune, highlighting ability to leverage technology to enhance security posture.
    • Hands-on knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, SQL, Ruby, Go), enabling development of custom tools and scripts to address unique security challenges.
    • Experience in network penetration testing and identifying vulnerabilities, demonstrating practical skills in assessing and mitigating risk.

    Skills & Competencies

    Desirable Skills:

    • Deep understanding of networking protocols, encryption, and intrusion detection systems, allowing for effective design and implementation of secure systems.
    • Ability to educate and communicate security practices to non-technical audiences, facilitating collaboration and buy-in across the organization.
    • Strong problem-solving, project management, and multitasking abilities, essential for managing complex security projects and responding to emerging threats.
    • Up-to-date knowledge of security trends and risk management strategies, ensuring the organization remains vigilant and proactive in its security efforts.
