Old Mutual believes in the African opportunity and values diversity within our talent pool. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Cyber Security Specialist to contribute to our team.

Key Responsibilities

Analyse business and IT requirements with colleagues, development teams, and departments to identify security needs.
Oversee system infrastructure and ensure reliable uptime of core services.
Research and implement new tools, technologies, and best practices to meet business requirements.
Combine traditional system administration and engineering techniques with automation, observability, and software development skills.
Administer Windows servers and management tools on-premises and in the cloud with a holistic mindset.
Understand operational performance factors resulting from integrated systems, considering:

Underlying infrastructure (Container/virtualisation/server/networking/storage platforms)
Security and Controls requirements (Cybersecurity)
Data/integration
Availability
Change management
Emergency Response / Disaster Recovery

Provide occasional out-of-hours support as needed.
Develop and maintain monthly reporting processes.
Comply with organisational structure and standard operating procedures.
Offer expert technical guidance and input.
Lead the System engineering team and create/maintain technical documentation as required.
Ensure Backup Strategy and compliance adherence.
Support VEEAM knowledge and operations.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field.
At least 7 years of relevant work experience is necessary.
Cloud expertise, including Azure and AWS.
System Architecture Design, consulting, and documentation.
Brocade Zoning knowledge.
Advanced Active Directory implementation, maintenance, and support, including Azure AD.
Security certificate management and deployments / Wildcard certificates.
Secure FTP (Cerberus beneficial).
Microsoft Licensing Knowledge.
Reverse Proxy / Static pages / Fortinet.
MPLS / IP Routing.
Internet Information Server (IIS).
Microsoft Windows Server Operating system (2008/2012/2016/2019).
Understanding and application of API/Integration key concepts.
Virtualisation (VMWare).
MS Exchange (2019) and O365.
SMTP/POP3.

Technical Skills

VMWare
ESXi
vSphere
SRM
Troubleshoot VMWare issues
Configure HA/DRS
Monitor performance and usage
Follow best practices and improve the environment
Ensure the environment is updated with critical patches
Plan and execute upgrades
Ensure the environment runs optimally and suggest improvements
Monitor performance and usage of the network
Manage Network switch health
Document Firewall rules and Diagrams
Execute Disaster Recovery exercises

Servers & Hosts

Prioritise patching and vulnerability mitigation.
Manage Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory.
Ensure DNS functionality.

Cloud

Manage Azure Cloud infrastructure.
Kubernetes and DevOps knowledge advantageous.
SQL Server knowledge advantageous.
Permissions and networking with IPSEC tunnel to on-prem.
Load Balancers and Blob storage with on-prem AD integration.

Network

Collaborate with the Network team for configs when required.
Advise on internal APIs routing through the Firewall.
General network knowledge for troubleshooting.
