Description

Duties/Pligte- Participating in planning and conducting research that leads to research outputs;- Supervising postgraduate students in thesis-based postgraduate programmes;- Co-managing the Zebrafish Husbandry Unit;- Representing The Experimental Medicine Group at scientific meetings;- Facilitating learning and training (including teaching, mentoring and guiding postgraduate students) in theoretical and practical aspects of Disease Modelling and Drug Discovery;- Planning, organising and facilitating learning opportunities;- Involvement in community interaction activities.


Job Requirements/Pos Vereistes- PhD in Physiology or closely related discipline in the health sciences;- At least two years' post-doctoral research experience;- A published track record of both pre-clinical and clinical research experience in the context of autoimmune disease;- Published evidence of your ability to develop clinically relevant disease models in cells, rodents and zebrafish;- Comprehensive knowledge of zebrafish husbandry practices, including related legislation;- Good communication and supervision skills;- The ability to function well within a team.

Recommendation/Aanbeveling- Proven ability to give guidance to students;- Evidence of leadership in a scientific environment.
