The Warehouse Supervisor oversees and coordinates daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, supervising staff, and securing the warehouse.

Duties & Responsibilities_

Plan work in an efficient and effective order, maximiing progress in a safe and timely manner.

Organise and set priorities for efficient use of equipment and labour.

Ensure that production corresponds with time schedules. Identify production problems and take appropriate actions to maintain product quality.

Liaises with the Production Manager pertaining production schedules and product delivery.

Manage Work-In-Progress in area of responsibility.

Undertake responsibility for Production Standards in areas of responsibility.

Monitor, control and ensure completion on all daily tasks within your sections.

Identify and report production backlogs or short falls in materials ahead of time.

Stock counting on a daily base. Receiving and dispatch of stock. Take part in regular stock take activities.

Ensure that staff report to their workstations on time and provide regular staff feedback and record all items issued to personnel

Responsible for the training of new employees as well as the training of safety procedures.

Calculate and complete clock cards of employees and ensure effective disciplinary and grievance management.

Develop staff in terms of identifying training needs and making recommendations concerning interventions to address these.

Enforce adherence to legal requirements and Afrit policies, operating procedures and instructions.

Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage.

Communicate with buyers and where needed with external supplies about stock issues.

Handling store issues and taking corrective action and ensure housekeeping rules are adhered to.

Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by establishing and monitoring security procedures and protocols.

Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational and personnel policies and procedures.

Oversee QC in the Storeroom, Quality assurance of materials and parts received and dispatched.

Ensure that all personnel have the correct PPE and have daily green meetings with crew.

Ensure implementation of SHE standards and policies and recommend any improvements.

Awareness of, and communicate to superior, any potential or actual failures to meet service level requirements.

Arrange meetings, prepare and communicate reports, and liaise with other production areas.

Liaise daily report to direct Manager and prepare detailed reports on inventory operations, stock levels, and adjustments.

Reporting on monthly stock takes, scrap parts and KPI's.

Desired Experience & Qualification_

Matric (essential)

Code 8 driver license (essential)

Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations and management.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP software.

Experience in production within the steel and engineering industry and/or the industrial trailer environment
