An exciting opportunity exists for a National Operational Manager and Field Sales Manager - Cape Town for a natural skincare brand.
This dual role requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a passion for driving operational excellence and sales growth.
The National Operational manager plays a pivotal role in driving operational efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness across diverse regions and retail outlets within the organization.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead and mentor the Field Sales Managers and Agencies Operational Leads, fostering strong relationships with key clients and partners.
- Cultivate robust relationships with Retailer Operational Heads, Agencies, Stores, and Internal Stakeholders.
- Ensure achievement of monthly sellthrough targets for Field Sales Managers, resulting in replenishment and stock turnover to meet financial objectives.
- Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) aligned with overall organizational goals.
- Manage the relationship with Skynamo, ensuring FSMs service all outlets per the route planner.
- Provide continuous training and development for FSMs.
- Conduct ongoing route list management and meetings to guide and support team goals. Implement agency SLA agreements and ensure FSM's adherence.
Financial Management:
- Maintain and update Store target sheets and FSM commissions.
- Calculate and report monthly and quarterly incentives for retailers and FSMs.
- Manage store and agency reports, including the Sell In and Sell Out tracker.
- Approve FSMs' monthly expenses.
- All commissions & expenses of the National Operational Manager to be approved by the National Commercial Manager
- Ensure accountability for Company Assets and store audit reports.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with departments like marketing, product development, trade marketing, and key accounts to achieve unified business objectives.
Operational Management:
- Oversee Field Operations team to execute omnichannel promotional and merchandising plans efficiently.
- Manage all store activations, promotions, and issuance of new planograms and guides. Prepare and implement GTMK for all launches.
- Manage all RTV's for the FSM's, All Returns/RTV's must be logged via Skynamo with valid reasons and will only be processed if authorised by the National Operational Manager.
- Own all updates and reporting on Skynamo, price adjustments, score card/check list and any general reporting.
- Own SLA agreement with the agencies.
Training:
- Collaborate with training lead to ensure regular and proper training of consultants, merchandisers, and agencies.
- Ensure bestinclass training and product knowledge for effective store consultant upskilling and direct consumer sales.
Point of Sale & Consumable Management:
- Accountable for Point-of-Sale management and FSM promotional tools to maintain brand standards.
- Manage FSM samples and testers in coordination with trade marketing to meet budgets.
Competitor Analysis:
- Stay informed and report on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Proven experience in operations management and field sales/sales account management
- Track record of success in driving operational efficiency and sales growth.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve targets and deliver results.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with a problemsolving mindset and the ability to make datadriven decisions.
- Good Excel skills.
- Flexibility to travel as needed.
