    Engineering Manager

    The Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and implementing company engineering policies and standards, providing specialist engineering knowledge. The incumbent will implement a standardised asset lifecycle management approach and maintenance management system across the organisation, driving standardisation of spare parts management and maintenance planning.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Develop strategies to improve quality of engineering service, performance, and operational efficiency for the unit.
    • Drive optimal asset care through establishing systems for maintenance applicable to plant and services (continuous improvement based).
    • Approve engineering designs and/or programme or project specifications to meet desired compliance with engineering principles, standards, statutes, codes, regulations and design.
    • Define policies and compliance procedures with engineering principles, standards, codes and design needs; perform inspections and audits to ensure proper procedures are followed.
    • Write clear, concise documents and reports addressing novel or complex engineering concepts and facts such as standards or practices or codes or regulations.
    • Draft and develop standards, rules and legislation.
    • Provide engineering standards consultation as an expert involving complex or broad scope work projects or programmes.
    • Participate in development of long-range engineering and project management strategic goals.
    • Drive standardisation of spare parts management and maintenance planning.
    • Develop and align KPI framework with manufacturing leadership, review and monitor monthly performance against set standards and provide input to management for review.
    • Work with Capex project management team to develop technical specifications for new plant and machinery purchase.

    Key Performance Indicators:

    • Machine uptime % (breakdown hours per day)
    • Maintenance cost per standard unit of production
    • Maintenance consumable cost
    • Maintenance cost savings (% achieved versus target)

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in FMCG with experience in maintenance management and project management.
    • GRM2 certification.
