  • OUR SCHOOL
    ROLE SUMMARY:
  • Excellence in administrative and planning tasks.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, especially clear and accurate communication, with all stakeholders.
  • To promote the progress and wellbeing of individuals and groups assigned to them.
  • To manage coaching across the summer and winter season, and to coach if the need arises.
  • Attend all AGMs of sports codes
  • Appoint and manage teacher sport managers and parttime coaches
  • Interview, select and contract all parttime coaches
  • Draw up and communicate all fixture lists
  • Manage fixture bookings, catering, venues etc
  • Be present at all fixtures and visibly support all sports
  • Manage parent and coach communications in a professional manner
  • Manage interhouse events e.g. athletics and swimming events
  • Manage all sports' awards events i.e. sports awards assemblies; sports' dinners etc
  • Oversee the colours' committee and colours' awards
  • Manage extramurals and administration
  • Manage extramural photographs and magazine articles
  • Keep sports' notice boards and announcements updated

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Attend staff meetings, assemblies and parent liaison meetings
  • Manage equipment and keep control of stock
  • Manage sporting uniforms
  • Manage behaviour related to all sporting codes on and off the field
  • Manage sports' tours
  • Host sporting guests and manage these events
  • Coordinate and manage school camps and tours
  • Coordinate and manage transport for College Sport
  • To develop strategic plans for each sporting code for the next 35 years
  • Attend regular, scheduled meetings with the Executive Head
  • To lead our strategy to achieve and sustain excellence in Education through Sport in a competitive environment.
  • To evaluate, reflect on and refine coaching and teaching practice.
  • To undertake continuous professional development.
  • To produce a playing experience and educational resources that are always of a high standard.
  • To commit to serving the community.
  • To attend all occasions appropriate for the position.
  • To set and mark relevant exams and all other associated forms of student evaluation.
  • To be a Tutor teacher, ensuring effective pastoral care for a group of students.
  • To undertake any other reasonable tasks that the College Head determine.

  • A minimum of
    3 years' experience leading Sport; personal coaching excellence and the ability to lead a team to sustain high performance.
  • The ability to teach with excellence in Physical Education from Grade 12
  • Appropriate legal right to work in a South African school
  • Certified Teaching Status
  • Certified Coaching Standards
  • SACE accreditation
  • COVID vaccination certificate
