Senior Technical Officer: Operations Pla - Midrand, South Africa - Vodafone
Description
Role Purpose:
To ensure the quality implementation and maintenance of the collocated RAN and MTX/MSC/BSC maintenance through collaborations with regional plant specialists.
The management of the maintenance budget and processing of quotes while ensuring that related documentation is processed and invoiced in a timeous manner, to ensure maintenance payments are done on time.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Schedule and monitor maintenance program on 3rd Party Colocated sites (Tango & Rain).
- Maintain optimal performance of the 3rd part radio network.
- Perform daily checks on during scrums with 3rd parties (Tango & Rain)
- Project management of energy upgrades and battery replacement of 3rd party sites (Tango & Rain)
- Coordinating and monitor batteries installation workorders with contractors and Vodacom staff.
- Sign off workorders, verifying contents and work performed after completion
- Spares management for the 3rd party RAN network.
- Maintenance of all records for future reference purposes for the 3rd part colocated RAN equipment
- Escalation of all relevant issues to all effected roleplayers
- Ensure accurate quotations for all maintenance work.
- To ensure that quotations are properly approved and signed. Checking, processing and general administration of all maintenance quotations and claims.
- Create and maintain a database of all quotations and MSC/BSC maintenance claims.
- To ensure MSC/BSC payments are done timeously by checking the PO process against the available budget monthly.
- To ensure that changes in price book and catalogue is integrated and used by all suppliers. This will be done by liaising with Plant Specialist from all regions and obtaining the necessary documentation.

- Month end queries
- Rejected quotations and claims
- To ensure invalid / expired quotations are accurately updated/corrected each month
- Submit monthly report on all POs and spending per region
- Monitor spending per region
Technical / Professional Qualifications:
- Matric
- 3 year Diploma/Degree in Electrical Engineering (Advantageous)
Core competencies, knowledge, and experience:
- MS Office package
- SAP RE-FX
- GSM Knowledge
- Finance (basic principles)
- Policies & Procedures
- A minimum of 2 years telecommunication experience (Essential)
- One year experience in project management
- 12 years financial/budgeting experience
- 12 years contract management experience
- Knowledge of Accounting principles
