    Job Title: Construction Project Manager

    The Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Project Initiation and Planning: Develop project charters, execution plans, and coordinate deliverables from key stakeholders.
    • Project Coordination and Team Management: Coordinate efforts of all parties involved, develop team spirit, and ensure staff commitment to project goals.
    • Project Control: Ensure control measures for cost, time, and quality are in place, conduct regular status meetings, and monitor project milestones.
    • Contract Management: Manage contracts in accordance with agreement provisions, monitor performance, and ensure adherence to timelines.
    • Stakeholder Management: Develop stakeholder management plans, manage relationships, and implement effective communication systems.

    Expertise & Technical Competencies:

    • Project Management: Defines, plans, and manages large projects, assembles and leads diverse teams, and successfully manages substantial budgets.
    • Detailed Oriented: Identifies relevant information, maps out logistics, and establishes processes for accuracy and quality.
    • Planning & Organizing: Coaches others on advanced planning skills, develops partnership agreements, and transfers knowledge to others.
    • Reporting & Communication: Designs, reviews, and improves reporting processes, leads production of complex reports, and communicates complex problems simply.

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Built Environment (Engineering, Civil, Structural, Water, Building Science; Construction Management or Quantity Surveying).
    • Minimum 8 years' experience in infrastructure project management or advisory service or consulting experience.
    • Professional Registration with Built Environment professional bodies (ECSA, SACAP, SACPCMP).
    • Proven track record in construction monitoring and evaluation of civil engineering and building infrastructure projects.

    Desirable Requirements:

    • Postgraduate degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, or Construction Management.
    • Professional Registration with Project Management Institute (PMI) or Projects in Controlled Environments (PRINCE).
