Minimum Required Qualification:


  • NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or National Senior Certificate for Adults) with English Literacy.
  • N2 Platers Theory.
  • N2 Platers & Structural Steel Drawing.
  • Section 13 or 26D (completed learnership / apprenticeship) Boilermaker Trade Certificate as recognised by the QTCO.

The Appointee should:


  • At least 3 years experience as a qualified Boilermaker Aide / Apprentice / Artisan within a mining/plant environment.
  • Medically fit to work in the specific business area.
  • Clear security screening record.

Additional Requirements:


  • Valid Fork Lift and Mobile Crane drivers licence will be advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Maintenance, Installations and Construction
  • Adhere to equipment maintenance, installation and construction of work place facilities to standards and specifications.
  • All maintenance, installations and constructions to be inspected and checked for quality purposes.
  • Adherence to maintenance schedules.
  • Attending to mechanical breakdowns.
  • Escalation of unresolved breakdowns or unsuccessful maintenance, installation and constructions.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Administration
  • Completion of relevant documentation.
  • Adherence to document control standards and procedures.
  • Provisioning of data and information.
  • Safekeeping of documentation.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Stakeholder Relations
  • Building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders across the organisation and externally at all levels and crossfunctionally.
  • Ensuring open communication channels with all relevant stakeholders.
  • Liaising with the necessary entities on any environmental management related requirements and alignment where applicable.
  • Financial Management
  • Leading and driving cost saving and cash conservation initiatives.
  • Remaining competitive on the global cost curve for surface operations. Building a valuesbased organisational culture
  • Actively support and meaningfully participate in the execution of the segment specific organisational development plan. This support will manifest in the targeted shift in culture as described by a valid culture assessment. ESG Compliance

  • Maintain and comply with SHE standards within the work environment.
  • Participate in risk assessments and investigate and take appropriate action as per identified risks.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures

SHE Management:

  • Instil a culture of SHE leadership within the department.
  • Participate in regional/local bodies and decisionmaking forums in the process developing a business relevant external environment, that will result in the longerterm sustainability of the Division. Focus on safe production & operational excellence
  • Focus on safety and health as well as operational excellence
  • Improve our position on global industry cost curve People Management
  • Provide coaching and onthejob training to reporting staff.
  • Manage performance and development of reporting staff.
  • Nominate team members for developmental training.
  • Ensure fair work allocation for team members.
  • Inspire team members towards high performance.
