    Description

    Faircape Health provides comprehensive care across six world-class healthcare facilities located within luxury retirement villages in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, Tokai Estate, Cle Du Cap, and Noordhoek Manor.

    The position requires an experienced Shift Leader - Registered Nurse (Day Shift) to work between these facilities. The Registered Nurse will oversee nursing operations and report directly to the Senior Nursing Service Manager on all matters related to patient care.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Leadership, Direction, and Management:
      • Provide effective leadership and direction to the nursing team.
      • Oversee and manage staff performance to maintain high standards of care and professionalism.
      • Develop and implement training programs for staff.
    • Clinical Tasks:
      • Develop individualized care plans for residents.
      • Conduct regular reviews and updates of care plans.
      • Ensure care plans align with medical and personal needs of residents.
      • Monitor staff compliance with care plans and protocols.
      • Conduct risk assessments and document essential information.
      • Uphold best practice methods in clinical tasks.
      • Ensure safe medication administration.
      • Manage stock levels and supplies.
      • Implement infection control protocols when required.
    • Emergency and Incident Management:
      • Follow established emergency policies and procedures.
      • Act according to patients' living wills or advanced directives during emergencies.
      • Inform multidisciplinary teams and families of incidents or resident deaths.

    Requirements

    • Qualifications:
      • SANC registration as a Registered Nurse.
      • Basic Life Support certification is advantageous.
    • Experience and Knowledge:
      • Proven experience as a Shift Leader / Unit Manager.
      • Experience in a similar leadership position is advantageous.
      • Knowledge of Dementia care, Frail care, and Palliative care is advantageous.
      • Ability to deliver training sessions for staff development.
      • Experience in scheduling and managing staff shifts.
    • Skills and Attributes:
      • Clinical Expertise: Strong clinical skills and experience in nursing practice.
      • Leadership skills: Ability to lead a team of nurses effectively.
      • Excellent communication skills.
      • Problem-Solving: Capability to make critical decisions and solve complex problems.
      • Adaptability: Flexibility to handle changing circumstances.
      • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative environment.
      • Ability to manage a nursing unit's daily operations.
      • Skilled in addressing and correcting staff behavior or performance issues.
      • Time Management: Efficiently manage time and resources during shifts.
    • Specific Requirements:
      • Clear health record.
      • Clear criminal record.
      • Clear credit record.
      • Contactable references.

      Working Hours

      • Normal working days are Monday to Sunday.
      • You will be required to work 16.25 shifts per month.
      • Night shifts are from 07h00 - 19h00.

      Salary

      • Salary on offer from R 37,000.00 Cost to Company per month.
