PURPOSE OF THE ROLE


To develop and manage the SHEQ Management functions and systems with the objective of ensuring and assisting the business to achieve its strategic objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES / ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Customer Service_
  • Understand and ensure that customer quality requirements are met and delivered.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with our customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure all warranty or replacement orders conform fully with requirements and specifications within the agreed timelines.
  • Identify route cause of product failure in the market and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Safety, health, environmental_
  • Maintain SHE Management systems and certifications.
  • Ensure that safety legislation and standards are implemented and in place in all operational facilities such that injuries are minimized and that MEIA targets are met/exceeded. Data measuring the above must be recorded and communicated.
  • Create and maintain working conditions in all operational facilities such that all Health regulations, standards and MEIA target are met/exceeded. Data measuring the above must be recorded and communicated.
  • Manage and measure use and consumption of nonrenewable resources such that operational facilities minimize environmental footprint and meet MEIA requirements and targets.
  • Sustainability, NPI, VA/VE_
  • Ensure that MEIA procedures are followed, and targets are achieved.
  • Contribute to ensuring that MEIA sustainability requirements are met.
  • Support and contribute to the implementation of NPI and VA/VE projects and timelines.
  • Ensure all NPI and VA/VE projects conform to Quality specifications and MEIA requirements.
  • Financial Effectiveness_
  • Assist with budget creation and ensure adherence.
  • Ensure that the SHEQ department meets all legal requirements and complies with the GROUP standard of ethics.
  • Manage and control resources to ensure adherence to approved budgeted/forecast expenditure.
  • Manage nonconforming materials, components and product as per requirements (weekly, scrap or rework) and implement preventative actions to achieve budget targets.
  • Measure, record and communicate cost of quality and DPPM.
  • Quality Management, CIP and Risk Management_
  • Maintain Quality Management systems and certifications.
  • Daily recording of nonconforming product with root cause analysis.
  • Daily recording of Rework hours as part of cost of quality.
  • Ensure Goods Receiving Inspections are effective.
  • Develop Internal audit schedule and perform accordingly.
  • Plan and implement corrective actions as and when require in order to meet objectives.
  • Ensure that all quality defects are corrected, such set targets and objectives are achieved.
  • Identify risks and propose solutions in areas outside of your control.
  • Continuous Improvement_
  • Participate in At least 6 Lean Workshop per annum.
  • Drive "Lean" in your area of responsibility i.e., Error Proofing.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture within your team.
  • Constantly seek for new or improve "ways of doing" things and implement in your department.
  • Support Lean or improvement activities within the team.

  • Direct subordinates to achieve individual and team objectives.
  • Setting individual team goals to support Company Objectives.
  • Identify training and development needs of subordinates and implement.

Qualification & Experience:


  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or Quality Management.
  • At Least years of experience in Quality Management.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • A Good understanding of Quality Systems.
