Winning Form has an exciting opportunity available for a Commercial Manager to be based in Umhlanga, Durban.

The successful incumbent will support the Group General Manager by working closely and assuming responsibility on key business development projects across the entities within the Winning Form Group as outlined by the GM.

Overseeing the financial positions, operational processes and business development strategies to grow each entity within the group. Guide, mentor, coach and develop Operational Management teams to enhance their business acumen and form accountable business unit owners. Ensure timeous reporting on progress of business and resource developments to executive management. Ensure achievement of company's strategic objectives, goals, plans and targets.


Minimum requirements:

  • 5+ years Operations Management experience
  • 3+ years Manufacturing experience
  • 3+ years Supply Chain experience

Responsibilities:


Financial Metrics:


  • Effective cost management across all entities.
  • Monthly reviewing of management accounts and upskilling of Operational Management teams on in depth analyzing.
  • Research on cost effective products / services / solutions to best serve requirements in each business unit.
  • Monitoring of debtors age analysis.
  • Regular market comparison exercises to ensure current suppliers are the best value for money partners of the group.

Operational Requirements:


  • Continuous reviewing of standard operating procedures assessing efficiency and risk areas, to mitigate in real time.
  • Continuous implementation of improvement and business development strategies.
  • Benchmarking and defining KPAs linked to measurable KPIs aimed at driving performance management.
  • Continuous assessment of manufacturing processes and weakness areas to be identified and resolved immediately.

People:


  • Identifying development areas, and coaching / mentoring operational management team to build on identified areas of improvement.
  • Performance management of staff and disciplinary processes.
  • Enforcing ethical, honest, transparent & fair work environment.
  • Sourcing of training as and when needed for staff.
  • Adequate recognition of staff efforts.
  • Talent retention (through role creation, career path planning).
  • Succession planning.
  • Sustainable morale and team building.
  • Recruitment and related interviews.
  • Induction and training of new team members.
  • Approval of leave, bio time, phone usage.
  • Implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Monitoring of employee productivity and smoke breaks.
  • Approving and monitoring of overtime.

Compliance, risk and quality:


  • Creating, maintaining and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Quarterly updating of risk assessments.
  • Maintenance of department process writeups / system descriptions and quarterly updating.
  • Ensure proper documentation in place with external suppliers, customers, and other business relations.
  • Ensure logical saving of all work, templates, etc. monthly and yearly such that each year's financial records can stand on its own when enquiries / investigations /audits take place.
  • Produce high quality, neat, logical, succinct, easy to follow, easy to understand, formula linked work/ templates / workbooks / financial models of which is substantiated by facts with no numbers in the formulas.
  • Ensure the above (final version) and other documents are chronologically saved/backed up.
  • Effectively deal with internal, external, SARS and BEE auditors.
  • Ensure that all documents are chronologically saved/backed up.

Growth and new markets/products:


  • Ensure measures are put in place and steps are taken to achieve the short, medium and long term goals.
  • Development of existing business and service offerings.
  • Development and implementation of market approach to drive external sales growth.
  • Stay abreast with competitor content and initiatives.
