Providing meaningful input during planning and risk assessments

Investigating underground instability issues and rock related incidents
Recommending on the safety and productivity of the mining environment
Adherence to strata control practices and principles
Adherence to standardisation requirements, policies, procedures and operating standards related to strata control services and support
Resolving or escalating operational strata control related queries or breakdowns declared
Reviewing and analysing effectiveness of operational strata control processes
Reviewing strata control data and information
Participating in the identification of defects and improvement opportunities
Successful teamwork and collaboration with stakeholders
Adherence to organisational and legislative safety requirements
Grade 12 Certificate with mathematics and science
Chamber of Mines Strata Control Certificate a critical requirement
A Blasting certificate and mining experience would be beneficial
Mining relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. B-Tech or BSc) would be an advantage
Minimum 5 years Rock Engineering experience within a metalliferous / massive miningenvironment.
Studies towards Certificate in Rock Mechanics will be advantageous
Numerical Modelling proficiency
Ability to communicate with people on different levels
Excellent report writing ability
Proficient in Microsoft office package
Valid Certificate of physical fitness
Drivers license with own transport would be a benefit
