    Description

    Junior BI Developer Position

    We are seeking a Junior BI Developer to join our team at Managed Talent Solutions, a division within Datacentrix. The selected candidate will be based in Johannesburg and work with business stakeholders to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Extract and transform data from various sources, utilizing ETL processes to prepare data for analysis.
    • Collaborate with databases to store and retrieve data efficiently, writing and optimizing SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation.
    • Develop semantic models using SQL queries and views.
    • Create reports and dashboards to effectively communicate results and insights to stakeholders.
    • Enhance user experience by creating intuitive reports and dashboards.
    • Migrate reports across workspaces as needed.
    • Work closely with business analysts or users to understand data requirements and translate them into actionable BI solutions.
    • Troubleshoot BI solutions, providing support to end-users to resolve data discrepancies (level 0 support).
    • Address report errors related to data accuracy, calculations, or missing values.
    • Regularly document and manage BI initiatives on Azure DevOps.
    • Document data models, processes, and BI solutions for future reference and knowledge transfer.

    Required Qualifications and Skills:

    • Matric certificate plus a Diploma in Computer Science or Information Technology or a related field.
    • Microsoft certification PL300 - Power BI Data Analyst Associate.
    • Microsoft certification DP900 - Microsoft Azure Data Fundamentals.
    • Knowledge of dimensional semantic model design principles (Star schema).
    • Understanding of DAX for Power BI Measures.
    • Experience with PowerBI components (Power Query, modeling, report visualization).
    • Familiarity with PowerBI online components (App, Access, Management).
    • Knowledge of various data sources (SQL Server, flat files, Dynamics D365).
