Description
As an Assistant Accountant, you will be tasked with managing daily financial processes and people within the department.

Your key areas of responsibility and performance as an Assistant Accountant include:

Financial Reporting:
Assisting in the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. Ensuring accurate and timely reporting in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.

General Ledger Management:
Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions, and resolving any discrepancies.

Inventory Management:

Collaborating with the inventory team to monitor and reconcile stock levels, conducting regular inventory counts, and ensuring accurate valuation of inventory.


Cost Analysis:
Assisting in analyzing costs associated with the production, distribution, and sales. Providing insights on cost-saving opportunities and identifying areas for improvement.

Budgeting and Forecasting:
Assisting in the development of budgets and forecasts for various departments or product lines. Monitoring actual performance against budgeted targets and providing variance analysis.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:
Assisting in processing vendor invoices, verifying accuracy, and ensuring timely payment. Supporting the collection process for customer receivables, monitoring outstanding balances, and following up on overdue payments.

Tax Compliance:
Assisting in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT. Ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

Financial Analysis:
Conducting financial analysis to support business decision-making. This may include analyzing pricing strategies, profitability of product lines, and evaluating the financial impact of marketing campaigns.

Audit Support:
Assisting with internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation, and addressing audit queries. Implementing audit recommendations and improving internal controls where necessary.

Systems and Process Improvement:
Collaborating with the finance team to identify areas for process improvement and automation. Assisting in the implementation and testing of new accounting systems or software.

The position is based in Stellenbosch.
