JOB TITLE
:
ASSISTANT RESTAURANT MANAGER (ARM)


PURPOSE OF JOB
To achieve sustainable sales and profits by assisting the RGM with the running of the restaurant and team through the KFC systems and processes through Driving & Executing:

  • winning culture through KFC principles
- systems and processes to ensure that operational standards are achieved
- the delivery of customer and people promises


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

PEOPLE - 30%

  • Drive culture in the restaurant by fostering KFC principles
  • Ensure that the restaurant is effectively and optimum staffed at all times through generating ESP and guiding the Shift Supervisors on executing the ESP through RTP using forecasting approved by the RGM
  • Load, Induct and train all new employees in relevance to KFC Training Continuum and training schedule/plan. Drive training and development for all DC developing managers (SS, ARM & RGM)
  • Maintain up to date employee files and training records for all employees
  • Drive the development of all team members proactively to ensure that a robust 'talent pipeline' is in place
  • Assist with the facilitation of Team meetings as and when required
  • Assist and manage all Employee Relations issues, updating RGM, Area Coach and HRBP, as appropriate when needed
  • Track team absence, and taking action in line with KFC's Code of Conduct where appropriate with the RGM
  • Adhere to all legal and company Health, Safety and Food Hygiene regulations at all times and take corrective action where necessary
  • Assist with ensuring that all employees are fully trained on fire procedures, Health & Safety, Food Hygiene and Security/Robbery procedures
  • Ensure that Company Security Procedures are followed thoroughly in order to ensure the security of people, premises, stock, equipment and monies at all times.

CUSTOMER - (30%)

  • Drive a customer focused environment which is appealing to KFC's diverse customer base
  • Assist with the completion period ROCC evaluation and implement actions to ensure resolution of issues and to drive consistent improvement. Thoroughly follow up on ROCC Action Plans, completing actions in a timeously.
  • Encourage TM and SS to deliver on all KFC CSL product preparation procedures.
  • Manage all customer complaints in line with company policy, escalating issues to RGM/Area Coach, where appropriate.
  • Review Daily and period GES Reports. Utilize relevant company tools (MOT observation checklists etc.) to ensure the restaurant is consistently achieving the company standard.
  • Assist with following up on any issues arising from Health Department audits, plan to ensure corrective action is taken in a timely manner as required when requested
  • Ensure that the store consistently provides an excellent customer service by making use of the company tools and reports (e.g. prep for peak, condiment planner etc.).

SALES- (20%)

  • Consistently seek to maximize the sales in the restaurant through exceptional operational standards and a 'maniacal' approach to customer service. Reinforce Bold Sales Goals to the team, pushing to consistently exceed sales targets.
  • Build Know How of surrounding KFC restaurants and other QSR's, and understand how it impacts us.
  • Build and cultivate the understanding of a strong sales culture in your store and share it with team members and SS at each shift.
  • Assist with the management of team member incentives and drive regular recognition in store.
  • Ensure that points of sale are to be up to date at all times and drive with the training of the team on all new products enabling them to drive sales.
  • Encourage, motivate and influence TM and SS to deliver on bold SWS measures to ensure sales drive behavior is maximized ensuring each individual understand how SWS can grow their business
  • Ensuring product availability through accurate forecasting and stock ordering as approved by RGM.

PROFIT - 20%

  • Understand the maximization of the restaurant profits by understanding and controlling all restaurant costs (e.g. labour, food). Monitor daily, weekly and periodically to ensure alignment to BSC and P&L targets.
  • Assist with the execution of the strategy developed by the RGM to maximize profitability of your restaurant system reports and company tools to guarantee 100% product availability, investigating and following up on all discrepancies.
  • Assist with the reviewing and analyzing of daily, weekly and monthly paperwork with particular focus on shift success routines book and food safety management system. All Management folders to be maintained in line with success routines.
  • Ensuring and encouraging the team to execute on cost saving plans as generated and approved by the RGM.

GENERAL

  • Stand in for the RGM if and when required
  • Provide support for KFC restaurants within your area, as required
  • Assist with the management of new product roll outs
