JUNIOR ISIZULU TEACHER:

APPS, an independent girls' preparatory school, wishes to appoint a Junior isiZulu to teach from
Grade 1 to Grade 4.

Applications are invited for this role to commence at the start of Term 2, 2023 or as negotiated.


Minimum requirements for this role include:

• Fluency in isiZulu with sound knowledge of linguistics in the language;
• Relevant teaching qualification/s from a recognized institution;
• Preferably a minimum of 3 years teaching and learning experience;
• A proven record of innovation, commitment, and professionalism towards education;
• Sound understanding and evidence of best practice of lesson planning and assessments, instructional methods & curriculum design for teaching in Grade 1 to Grade 4;
• Current educational tools and the use of technology in teaching practices and the classroom;
• Developing enquirybased and projectbased learning activities for 21stcentury learners;
• Critical and creative thinking strategies;
• Welldeveloped interpersonal and collaboration skills;
• Effective communication and presentation skills;
• Passion to keep abreast of new developments in teaching methods;
• Capacity to have supportive, trusting relationships with the students, parents and colleagues

- understand, identify with and contribute to the Christian Ethos and values of the school;
- communicate effectively in English;
- have a passion for education;
- be computer literate and have excellent written and communication skills;
- be willing to participate in the extramural programme;
- be self-motivated, creative and willing to accept responsibility;
- have the necessary reference and qualification checks;
- have a SACE registration certificate and be in possession of a clearance certificate in terms of the Sexual Offenders Act
