  • Building and maintaining relationships with new and existing clients, including regular visits.
  • Negotiating new contracts.
  • Negotiate transport rates with clients and transporters.
  • Manage volumes.
  • Understand the running cost of a vehicle to determine CPK's.
  • Analyse commodity trends and adapt to market fluctuations.
  • Keep track of the daily and monthly budgets.
  • Adding new clients and transporters to our existing book.
  • Maintain established admin procedures.
  • Develop relationships with current transporters, clients and truck drivers.
  • Follow up with transporters to determine accurate ETA's of trucks.
  • Good communication with clients keeping them informed about the status of the cargo.
  • Build good relationships with loading and offloading points.
  • Identify key role players at loading and offloading points.
  • Weekly planning and forecasting of truck movements.
  • Build client relations and support drivers at loading and offloading points.

Qualifications:


  • At least 24 years' experience in a similar role within the transport industry.
  • Relevant qualification (degree or diploma).
  • An indepth knowledge of the road transport industry is required, and an existing customer book would be beneficial.
