    Your Role:

    As a key member of our dynamic mechanical engineering team, we seek an accomplished Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to design critical mechanical equipment for process plants. In this position, you will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, gaining invaluable exposure to industry standards and specifications while mentoring less experienced engineers.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Play the lead design engineer role for assigned projects.
    • Mentor and assist younger design engineers when required.
    • Design and develop mechanical equipment for process plants, including piping and pressure vessels.
    • Engage in all phases of mechanical projects: planning, concept design, detailed design, manufacturing, quality control, installation, commissioning, and handover.
    • Create detailed 3D concepts and models, reviewing process plant layouts for optimization.
    • Accurately read and interpret process and instrumentation diagrams.
    • Solve complex engineering problems using advanced analysis software.
    • Review and ensure compliance of pressure equipment and piping fabrication packs.
    • Prepare specifications for piping and valves and provide mechanical inputs for datasheets.
    • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects to achieve effective design integration.
    • Continuously expand your knowledge of industry-specific design standards and specifications.

    Essential Qualifications & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Minimum of 12 to 15 years experience in mechanical design.
    • Proficiency in 3D design and engineering software such as Autodesk Inventor and Plant 3D.
    • Familiarity with piping and pressure vessel design software (e.g., CAEPIPE, CAESAR, PV-Elite) is a plus.
    • Knowledge of pressure equipment design codes (ASME, SANS, EN) and mechanical design principles.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
