    Description

    Job Description

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide expert IT support and network engineering services.
    • Maintain in-depth knowledge of fibre optic technologies, Layer 2 networking (VLANs, MAC address tables, STP), and managed switches.
    • Configure and troubleshoot Layer 2 network devices, Ethernet, MPLS, and L2 VPN technologies.
    • Analyze and resolve complex network issues using monitoring and diagnostic tools.
    • Install, test, and maintain fibre optic cabling, splicing, and testing equipment.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Possess networking certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+, etc.) with a focus on Layer 2.
    • Stay up-to-date with advanced Layer 2 technologies such as VXLAN, L2VPN, and QoS.
    • Have experience with network automation or scripting.
    • Be proficient in both English and Afrikaans.
