    Clinical Application Support Specialist (Oncology)

    A clinical application support specialist is needed to manage and maintain the Oncology systems and applications. This role will serve as a subject-matter expert, providing support to users and ensuring the systems meet user requirements.

    This position involves monitoring system performance, implementing changes and enhancements, and participating in projects to improve the Oncology IT environment.

    Duties & Responsibilities

    Critical Outputs:

    • Provide technical expertise and support to users regarding the Oncology systems.
    • Assess system functionality and performance to ensure it meets user needs.
    • Manage service level agreements and investigate incidents and problem reports.
    • Ensure maintenance requests are logged and implemented with minimal disruption to business.
    • Monitor and optimize the systems landscape.
    • Document interdependencies between systems and processes to ensure business stability.
    • Manage third-party escalation and communication.

    Coordinate and Drive Small Enhancements:

    • Identify shortcomings and issues in Oncology system functionalities and make recommendations for improvements.
    • Follow change governance process for changes required in the Oncology IT environment.
    • Ensure understanding of business changes to determine systems impact.
    • Review deployment plans and provide subject-matter expertise to change projects.

    Involvement in Projects Delivery to Oncology Business Unit:

    • Manage business expectations and engage stakeholders.

    Support Liaison between IT and the Oncology Business:

    • Communicate with Oncology business unit and provide management information on system performance.
    • Keep up-to-date with trends, developments, and best practices in Oncology system functionalities.
    • Implement policies and procedures and ensure due processes are followed.
    • Deliver solutions to close IT-related audit findings in the Oncology business.
    • Monitor capacity and suggest improvements within the infrastructure team.
    • Drive solution of severity 1 and 2 incidents actively until resolved.
    • Identify process gaps where the system cannot support business requirements.
    • Engage with vendors to enhance daily operations of Oncology system performance.

    Governance:

    Ensure appropriate management of risk profile for the area of accountability and manage critical risks.

    People:

    Communicate deviations to best practice and foster an environment of continuous learning.

    Finance:

    Implement effective financial control and management of costs.

    Client:

    Define and influence relationships and service level agreements made with internal and external stakeholders.

    Desired Experience & Qualification

    • 2-3 years' direct experience in managing IT systems from a business point of view.
    • 3-5 years related work experience.
    • 2-3 years' experience in analyzing and defining business requirement specifications.
    • Operational experience in a corporate channel environment.
    • Experience in a healthcare services environment.
    • ITIL Foundation Certified is a prerequisite.
    • IT-related qualification will be advantageous.
    • Knowledge of in-house systems will be advantageous.
    • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
    • Knowledge of operating systems (Microsoft Windows).
    • Previous experience in the healthcare industry will be advantageous.
    • Solid knowledge of Information Security controls, concepts, and best practices along with technology and associated security risks.
    • Deep knowledge and subject-matter expertise regarding the Oncology IT systems, products, services, and procedures.
    • Good understanding of IT systems development lifecycle principles.
    • Good interviewing and listening skills.
    • Good analytical and business-analysis skills.
    • Good interpersonal skills.
    • Basic understanding of project-management disciplines.
    • Basic understanding of Business Change Lifecycle methodology.
