What do we do?
FBX Capital Partners is a boutique corporate and commercial debt advisory business in the UK.


Our front office is in London, UK and we are building out our deal team (analysts and associates) in Cape Town, South Africa.

Our typical client is an ambitious UK business with annual turnover (or capital raised) of £5m-£50m and a debt funding requirement of £1-£10m.

We focus on raising debt capital for event driven transactions such as mergers & acquisitions or debt stack restructure. Our core specialisms are Asset Based Lending, Term Loans, Venture Debt and Private Credit.

Our objective is to be able to provide balanced expert advice to management teams and assist them in managing their transaction to completion.

We are not deck builders or forecast modelers, we are debt fundraiser experts.


Who is this perfect for?

  • Someone with around 5 years of financial experience & seeing business finance transactions endtoend. You are likely to have minimum of a BCom and worked in a banking, business lending or an advisory capacity and are looking for the next step in your career
  • Someone who has a strong grasp of debt finance products for business lending (any UK experience is great)
  • Highly motivated individual with interest in building and managing a team of high performing business finance analysts
  • Not necessarily someone with long previous management experience, but someone who definitely sees themselves as a people manager
  • Someone that wants to be part of a high ambition boutique debt advisory firm
  • Someone who is always willing to learn and feels comfortable delivering best in class customer service and advice
  • Process driven and hyperorganised
  • Comfortable giving opinions and advice to people in senior leadership roles

Mandatory skills

  • B2B financial products literacy

Role and Responsibilities

  • Building and managing team of analysts and associates to ensure delivery of optimum middle office transaction support
  • Acting as the key link between the UK front office and the SA middle office
  • Managing the process, performance and output of the middle and back office alongside working on your own transactions
  • Alongside the deal lead, assisting on the management of debt financing transactions from engagement to completion
  • Direct client engagement with the objective of understanding their business, their funding requirements and their financial position
  • Receipt and analysis of financial information from clients
  • Detailed analysis of engaged businesses and creation of 'dealsheets' for submission to lending partners
  • Appropriate submission of dealsheets and deal files to appropriate lenders
  • Working alongside lenders
  • Continuous engagement and deal management with the senior leaders on the transaction
  • Managing the back and forth with the client & the lender appropriately, including collating analysing and summarising further information and documentation
  • Organising and hosting virtual meetings between clients and lenders
  • Organising any surveys or onsite meetings between clients and lenders
  • Identifying upsell and cross sell opportunities during the course of transactions
  • Proactive lender and client communication, including managing both client and lender expectations throughout a transaction
  • Ensuring timely and accurate communication and completion protocols on all transactions
  • Postfirsttransaction ensuring that your 'stable' of clients are managed actively to drive any revenue growth, brilliant postcompletion customer service and additional opportunities (eg referrals)

Compensation:

Salary 40-50k ZAR pcm


Variable Compensation:

Quarterly and annual bonus scheme - estimated - 20% of base salary

Working hours & setup
Monday-Friday SAST 10am-7pm (it is very likely that you will have times where your working hours will be shorter than this, but equally, very likely that when a transaction is close to completion that your hours may be longer than this)

A minimum of 3 office days per week, the office is located in Foreshore, Cape Town
