    Chief Operating Officer

    About the Position

    Cerba Lancet Africa Pty Ltd is a leading provider of clinical pathology and medical diagnosis services in Africa. With a presence in 14+ countries, we deliver high-quality services to patients and medical communities.

    The Chief Operating Officer will be responsible for overseeing the smooth operations of our Business Units across Africa. This role reports directly to the CEO and contributes to senior management in each country.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Compliance: Ensure adherence to Cerba Lancet Africa policies, Health, Safety, and Environmental regulations, and statutory requirements.
    • Operational Excellence: Develop and manage budgets, oversee cost of sales budget, and drive quality of services.
    • Project Management: Lead operational projects from start to finish, allocate resources, and monitor performance.
    • Technology & Innovation: Implement advanced laboratory technologies, oversee LIS and data analytics tools, and adopt innovative testing technologies.
    • Procurement: Analyze business requirements, identify opportunities to improve supply chain and procurement systems, and contribute to sourcing new suppliers.
    • Supply Chain and Logistics: Oversee global supply chain, work with vendors, implement inventory management systems, and ensure regulatory compliance.
    • Strategic Planning & Global Expansion: Collaborate on operational strategy for global growth, analyze market trends, and develop strategies to enhance competitiveness.
    • Human Resource: Conduct performance appraisals, ensure time and attendance, review salary reviews, and assist with recruitment.

    Requirements:

    • Education: Master's degree in medical technology, healthcare management, business administration, or related field.
    • Experience: 8-10 years in laboratory or healthcare operations, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
    • International Experience: Proven track record in managing cross-border operations, understanding of various healthcare systems, regulatory frameworks, and cultural nuances.
    • Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of global healthcare and laboratory systems, laboratory standards, and country-specific regulations.
    • Financial Expertise: Strong experience in budgeting, financial planning, and cost control for international operations.
    • Leadership Skills: Demonstrated ability to lead large, diverse teams across multiple countries.
    • Expert skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), fluent in oral and written English, and French will be advantageous.

    Salary:

    R300,000 - R400,000 per annum
