Work Context

Our client is a well-established player in renewable energy projects construction, who places a high premium on providing quality work.

They have a position for an accomplished and experienced Project Manager to manage multiple projects.

The role is based at their Head Office in Cape Town, but will require assignment to different projects on a need basis.

The Electrical Construction Project Manager is responsible for planning, initiating, overseeing and coordinating projects, including job cost accounting and billing procedures, and liaison with own staff, sub-contractors, suppliers and client.

Responsibilities

• Project start-up planning, in conjunction with Senior Project Manager and Construction Manager, including determining and allocating project resources, finalizing labour histogram, evaluating procurement schedule.
• Project management to ensure successful execution, i.e. progress monitoring and reporting, ensuring HSEQ compliance and client liaison.
• Financial/Budget control and reporting
• Overseeing project completion by ensuring successful handovers and up-to-date maintenance agreements.
• People and sub-contractor management, inclusive of co-ordinating and managing the project's work schedule, participating in recruitment of staff, as well as developing staff and managing performance proactively and constructively.

Requirements:

National Diploma or equivalent in electrical engineering

10+ years' experience in project management

Advanced skill in using MS Projects, MS Office, MS PowerPoint

Ability to think and plan ahead

Excellent analytical skills

Decisiveness and good judgement

Strong concern for quality

Competence in communicating professionally and sound relationship building skills

Proactive and persevering

Strong work ethic and integrity
