Description

We are looking for a dedicated and accurate mechanical drafter with an interest in mechanical engineering and a self-motivated attitude.

You will be working with expert engineering teams to create a variety of technical drawings and digital models.


Responsibilities:


  • Develop detailed designs for mechanical equipment and controls.
  • Provide details on component descriptions.
  • Resolve design problems.
  • Review and analyse specifications.
  • Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery.
  • Compute dimensions of materials and purchase accordingly.
  • Correct operating deficiencies.
  • Draft technical details.
  • Specify dimensions, materials, and procedures.
  • Draw in minute details of structures.
  • Design the parts of a machine.
  • Consult technical handbooks and tables while in drafting phase.
  • Use Computer Aided Design and Drafting systems to prepare drawings.
  • Create and store drawings electronically.
  • Program drawings into automated manufacturing systems.
  • Prepare variations of design.
  • Explain concepts to manufacturers.
  • Prepare engineering drawings that detail plans and specifications.

Requirements:

years' experience as a mechanically skilled draughtsman.

  • Engineering Drafting Courses / Certificate /Diploma /Degree / Trade tests
  • Software Auto CAD
  • Drawing.
  • Mathematical skills.
  • Computer savvy.
  • Design knowledge.

Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent


Salary:
R20, R25,000.00 per month


Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Durban, KwaZulu-Natal: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:


  • Draughtsman: 3 years (required)
