Litigation Attorney (full-time, Cape Town)
We're looking for a dedicated and experienced litigation associate to join our team in Cape Town. Our department is young and dynamic, and we're based in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Durban. We focus on delivering high quality legal services, fresh thinking, and working cohesively and harmoniously as a team.


Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage a large portfolio of commercial litigation matters in the Magistrate's Court and High Court
• Independently oversee and manage Family Law matters
• Advise on alternative means of dispute resolution, including mediation and arbitration
• Negotiate settlements
• Interact with clients and key stakeholders in a professional and effective manner
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff members
• Work closely with the team to ensure efficient case management
• The ability to work remotely, with team members in other cities
• Conduct legal research, prepare legal documents, and attend court proceedings as required
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail and accuracy in all work performed

Requirements:

• Admitted attorney with at least 2 years' PQE in a litigation practice
• Strong knowledge of civil procedure
• Ability to work independently and oversee portfolios
• MS Office expertise, particularly with Word and Outlook
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
• Detailoriented and able to maintain accuracy under pressure
• Valid driver's license and / or own means of transportation
