Job brief
The Regional Travel Operations Manager ensures full implementation of client's Travel supplier contracts in the designated region, driving compliance to the usage of corporate tools and contracts and adherence to the Global Travel Policy.
Responsibilities
- Build the interface between the Travel Procurement organization and the internal customer (travelers, bookers, functional stakeholders)
- Establish and entertain local travel councils to share and review travel program information and action plans.
- Work closely with the Global Travel Category Led to ensure the 'traveler community' voice is considered in travel sourcing and travel process design.
- Ensure full implementation of all travel contracts and work closely with the Global Travel Category Led to assess supplier usage, trends, performance.
- Manage complaints/issue with the TMC operations manager to resolve.
- Design impactful communication material to engage travelers on new initiatives, opportunities and to drive overall compliance to the travel program and online adoption.
- Assist the Global Travel Category Lead by maintaining an uptodate library of general traveler queries and act as point of escalation for regional queries.
- Support implementation of new tools and processes to enhance service delivery and program effectiveness.
- Work with the Concur / Client support team to facilitate conversations or feedback sessions with users
- Respond to Duty of Care initiatives in coordination with Client's Group Security
- Manage local supplier relationships on a daytoday basis under supervision of Global Travel Category Lead
- Follow up and ensure reporting on local travel savings initiatives.
- Support negotiations with regional or local suppliers as required.
Requirements:
- 3+ years' experience in managing corporate travel in a large global corporation and strong understanding of the business travel eco system.
- Customer centric approach with expertise in problem solving.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build true business partnerships.
- Wellorganized, reliable, and proactive
- Experience with Concur is a plus
- An analytical mind with strong business acumen
- Proficient with Excel, PowerPoint and other MS Office products
- English as a business language is essential
Cape Town and reports into the Global Travel Category Leader.
