_IT MANAGER _
JOB PURPOSE
The IT Manager has responsibility for the IT infrastructure and its effective and efficient operation.
The IT Manager is responsible for establishing, developing, and maintaining computer networks, asset management, account provisioning and management, procurement, security, in-house software systems, IT policy and governance, user education, vendor and partner management as delegated, evaluation and recommendations for changes and developments, and providing IT and technical support to users.
To fulfil this purpose the person needs a variety of skills to set up, monitor and maintain/ repair hardware, This requires technical knowledge, written communication abilities, problem-solving skills, installation and maintenance of new devices and strong interpersonal skills.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining physical computer networks and hardware including devices, servers, routers and access points.
- Maintenance of Microsoft Office 365 admin database.
- Installing and configuring network equipment.
- Maintain firewalls and updating virus protection software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected.
- Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems.
- Troubleshooting, resolving, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve software and system problems.
- Implementing and performing disaster recovery procedures.
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems.
- Troubleshooting and repairing laptops and computers.
- Provide orientation to new users of existing technology.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures for electronic and computer systems.
- Control the computer systems budgets and expenditures.
- Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel (and database management), PowerPoint and Outlook
- Microsoft Teams
- Various online learning platforms (Coursera and EdX)
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's, Diploma or Post School Qualification in information systems, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- 3 years of experience working in IT operations
- Experience managing IT projects and rolling out IT infrastructure across various technologies
- Excellent working knowledge of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems, and phone systems
- Demonstrable abilities:
- Strong critical thinking and decisionmaking skills
- Excellent project management skills and strong ability to prioritize
- Professionalism
- Effective time management including ability to prioritise
- Excellent communicative competency in English (verbal and written)
- Team orientation
- Ability to work under pressure
