    Graduate Engineer (Embedded Systems, IoT Development)

    Job Summary

    We are seeking a talented and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer with a strong interest in embedded systems, IoT development, and firmware to become a key player in our dynamic team.

    Responsibilities

    • Design and Develop IoT Solutions: Collaborate closely with a passionate team to create and implement innovative IoT solutions for mining and other industries from the ground up.
    • Hands-On Development: Involved in all aspects of IoT product development using ESP32 and STM32 microcontrollers, including hardware design, firmware coding, and software integration.
    • Test and Optimize: Work together to test and optimize systems to ensure reliability in real-world environments, especially challenging mining conditions.
    • Contribute to Firmware and Software Development: Write and refine embedded firmware for IoT devices and develop software for seamless integration with hardware and mobile/web applications.
    • On-Site Impact: Engage with mining sites, providing on-the-ground technical support and troubleshooting during installations and system operations.
    • Data-Driven Decision Making: Leverage data from IoT devices to provide valuable insights, helping to optimize operational efficiency and safety in mining environments.
    • Collaborate and Innovate: Work in cross-functional teams with engineers, designers, and project managers to meet project goals and push boundaries with new technologies.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
    • Strong interest in hardware design, embedded systems, and IoT development.
    • Familiarity with programming languages such as C/C++, Python, JavaScript is a plus.
    • Basic understanding of electronics and circuit design is a plus.
    • Knowledge of IoT protocols (like MQTT, CoAP, Bluetooth) will give you an edge.
    • Willingness to travel to mining sites and gain valuable real-world experience in a variety of environments.
    • Proactive problem-solver with a can-do attitude and a passion for learning new skills.
    • Fluency in English and Afrikaans is essential for effective communication with teams and clients.
