    Description

    Travel Consultant

    We are seeking a seasoned Travel Consultant to promote and book travel arrangements for clients, enhancing satisfaction and acquiring an expanding and dedicated clientele.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct research on various destinations and travel options, including prices, customs, weather conditions, and reviews.
    • Determine client specifications and wishes, then suggest suitable travel packages or services.
    • Organize travels from start to finish, including booking tickets and accommodations, securing rental transportation, and more.
    • Provide travelers with essential information and useful travel materials, such as guides, maps, and event programs.
    • Collect deposits and balances from clients.
    • Develop promotional techniques and create marketing materials to sell itinerary tour packages.
    • Address unforeseen problems and complaints, determining eligibility for refunds.
    • Maintain electronic records of clients and update them regularly.
    • Nurture relationships with key individuals and ensure financial statements and documents are kept up-to-date.

    Requirements

    • A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Travel Consultant is preferred.
    • Familiarity with Eastern and Southern African travel is desirable.
    • Proficiency in traveling software, including computer reservations systems and GDS systems.
    • Excellent knowledge of English; additional languages are an asset.
    • Exceptional sales skills and a customer-centric approach.
    • Well-versed in various areas of travel, including domestic/international, business/holidays, group/individual, etc.
    • Able to present, persuade, and communicate effectively.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle crises.
    • Candidates with personal travel experience will be given preference.
    • A degree in Hospitality, Travel, Tourism, Business, or a relevant field is required.

    Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
