    Description of the role

    As Creative & Production Manager you are responsible for the creative direction, team management and workflow of the UK creative and production hub housed in Johannesburg. You will have a sole focus on the UK business requirements, whilst having alignment and support of the creative and production capabilities of the local team.

    As an integral part of the marketing team, you will be responsible for managing the workflow of marketing and client creative and campaign requirements into the hub, assigning project-specific tasks, handling logistics, ensuring processes are followed, supporting the team by removing roadblocks, and updating internal stakeholders on project progress and status.

    Working closely with the UK Campaign Managers, Comms team and Brand & Sponsorship, you will be responsible for driving creatively consistent output that delivers on a defined brief. You will play a pivotal role in driving creative direction, managing the production workflow, and nurturing a team of talented creatives, multi-media and production specialists.

    Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and develop creative concepts.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, design techniques and approaches to multi-media production and delivery.
  • Oversee the development and execution of brand guidelines, ensuring consistency and adherence across all creative assets.
  • Manage relationships with external creative and production partners.
  • Manage the end-to-end production process of creative, multimedia, and marketing communications projects.
  • Coordinate and allocate resources to ensure the timely execution of projects.
  • Develop and maintain production schedules, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions to ensure smooth production workflow.
  • Coordinate the approval process for creative assets, ensuring timely reviews and feedback.
  • Oversee the testing process and implementation of marketing activity across channels – reporting on issue resolution, performance and learnings.
  • Prepare and deliver timely presentations, reports, and updates on project status to internal stakeholders.
  • Ensure an appropriate Quality Checking process is in place. Implement regular quality checks to ensure high standards of quality and brand consistency.
  • Continuously improve production processes, tools, and workflows to enhance efficiency, productivity, quality and effectiveness of output.
  • Supervise the compliance and approval process, ensuring that all briefs, assets, plans and performance reporting are stored correctly and has a clear audit trail.
  • Work with the Head of Marketing Ops to ensure that the team is connected into the UK and regular communication is had with the wider UK Marketing team.
  • Description of the skill and experience required

  • Minimum of three years of experience in Marketing Production Management or an associated position
  • Experience in managing and leading a creative and production orientated team, preferably from an agency
  • Eagerness to work on multiple initiatives at the same time
  • Solid decision-making skills and a sense of prioritization
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (especially Excel) and project management software [Basecamp, Trello, Asana, Jira, etc.]
  • Strong understanding of design and campaign principles and techniques.
  • Solid understanding of production processes, resource allocation and workflow processes
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptional leadership and management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to prioritise conflicting demands
  • Understanding of the creative, multi-media and campaign production process across media including social, print production in a creative, multimedia, or marketing communications environment.
  • Familiarity with website development processes, including design, coding, and content management systems.
  • Experience in managing CRM data and coordinating data management activities with campaign output.
  • Proficient in design and digital development processes.
  • Ideally skilled with Adobe applications including inDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Acrobat and Microsoft Office applications. In addition, general art working, press preparation and website content updates using CMS programmes such as Wordpress.
