Conduct scheduled, planned maintenance of equipment
Participate in development of a maintenance plan and maintenance schedules
Conduct routine inspections in accordance with maintenance plan/schedule and maintenance task lists
Report on routine inspection findings on maintenance schedules, and prioritise follow upwork
Identify equipment requiring maintenance during walkabouts and operator interactions
Conduct Unscheduled Repairs of Mechanical Plant Equipment
Ensure 95% availability of equipment through planned maintenance
Do fault finding on equipment faults
Capture all downtime for breakdowns on spreadsheets and/or visual charts
Perform Modifications and Upgrades of Equipment
Compile modification/design and specification upgrade schedule
Examine equipment diagrams to plan upgrades and maintenance
Modification of old designs to suit available parts
Ensure all diagrams, specifications and documentation are stored in designated storage area
Ensure that the contractors perform according to the contract
Conduct root cause analysis on all breakdowns (5whys)
Identify corrective and preventative actions to rectify breakdown and eliminate root cause
Assist in updating of maintenance plans/schedules as required from root cause analysis
Participate in higher level problem solving (fishbone analysis) to identify possible root causes in updating of SOPs as required from actions from 5whys and fishbone analysis

Qualifications and Experience:

Minimum requirements are N3 mechanical/millwright Trade tested Fitter and Turner
General Maintenance
Fitting and Turning experience
Welding experience
3+ years' postapprenticeship experience in in mechanical maintenance environment
Hydraulics and Pneumatics
Variable speed gearboxes
