A wellestablished international chemical manufacturing company requires the above to manage the overall maintenance of the plant and its staff ensuring that the costeffective maintenance system is implemented and maintained.

Minimum requirements for the role:

A trade qualification millwright or a dual trade fitter and electrician qualification a or tertiary qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering or equivalent is essential for this role.
Previous experience having worked within a Maintenance Manager role within a manufacturing environment is essential for the role.
Previous experience having worked with an online maintenance programme is preferred.
Experience with permittowork principles, lockout and tagout experience is preferred.
Must have good communication and management skills.
Computer literacy is essential with knowledge of Microsoft packages as well as experience using maintenance software.
Managing the department within budget while minimising downtime and overtime.
Developing maintenance planning schedules.
Inspecting and repairing machinery and equipment.
Ensuring that adequate critical spares are maintained and other stock is maintained to minimise downtime.
Ensuring that a practical list of spares is maintained thereby minimising working capital in stores.
Ensuring that maintenance is carried out as per the manufacturer guidelines.
Finding ways to improve the reliability of equipment by measuring critical parameters that will allow one to replace parts before they fail.
Leading, motivating and ensuring that the team is well trained.
Managing mechanical and electrical breakages.
Ensuring that the company's health and safety policies are adhered to at all times.
Promoting safety practices within the plant and creating a safe working environment.
Focusing on scrap, efficiencies and maintenance (planned and unplanned) as well as quality.
Managing maintenance contractors to ensure work is carried out as agreed, safely and within budget.
Participating in capex projects and project management of the projects.
