    Introduction

    The National Empowerment Fund is seeking an Investment Analyst to support the uMnotho Fund team. The role's purpose is to provide a support function to Investment Associates on all areas of transaction execution.

    Business Development / Transaction Origination

    1. Support business development initiatives by developing and maintaining client relationships.
    2. Maintain relationships with industry peers.
    3. Engage with BEE groups, intermediaries, lending institutions, and other stakeholders.
    4. Participate in business development initiatives at the request of the Fund Manager and/or Divisional Executive.
    5. Contribute to the development of a business development strategy.
    6. Build networks within the financial and BEE market with peers, leveraging the NEF's development status.
    7. Attend deal forums to establish a reputation as an acknowledged analyst.

    Transaction Analysis

    1. Apply standard investment analysis techniques to deal structuring, market analysis, and valuation principles.
    2. Provide comprehensive financial analysis using approved financial modelling tools.
    3. Analyse, compile, and report on market information on a deal-by-deal basis.
    4. Conduct comprehensive valuation analysis to mitigate risks to the NEF and its partners.
    5. Coordinate internal and external resources to evaluate deals/applications.
    6. Leverage relationships to create ongoing industry analysis from other institutions.
    7. Influence internal decision-making and project processes for investment approval.
    8. Develop knowledge to support the team in identifying mitigation measures for key risk issues.
    9. Participate in due diligence exercises using approved processes and principles.
    10. Provide commentary on finance and legal structures for each investment deal.

    Qualifications

    1. A graduate degree (BCom, CA, CFA, or equivalent).

    Experience/Skills Required

    1. A generalist in corporate finance with some experience in private equity.
    2. An expert Analyst demonstrating a good to high command of required abilities.
    3. 2-5 years of Financial Analysis experience.
