    Vector's fleet includes multi-temperature vehicles, providing service across frozen, chilled, and ambient temperature zones on a single delivery.

    Job Purpose

    Maintain effective sales and merchandising relationships with retail, franchise, and wholesale customers by understanding their businesses, the macro environment, and our products.

    This role exists at multiple hubs: Central Based Durban, Empangeni, Phoenix, Pietermaritzburg, Pinetown, Newcastle, Vryheid, and Port Shepstone/Shelly Beach/Margate.

    Key Responsibilities

    1. Customer Engagement:
      • Create an efficient route plan to achieve maximum call rate each day.
      • Conduct research and preparation to meet Vector and customer objectives.
      • Analyze the customer's micro and macro environment.
      • Prioritize Principal priorities for the month.
      • Ensure successful promotional compliance and implementation.
      • Take orders for new line listings and other solution products.
      • Launch new products into assigned customers.
    2. Feedback:
      • Provide quality feedback to supply chain and relevant functions.
    3. Customer Relationship Management:
      • BUILD AND MAINTAIN RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY CUSTOMERS.
      • Resolve escalated customer queries professionally.
    4. Supply Chain and Distribution Management:
      • Address area stock availability issues with depots.
      • Implement a daily pre-call planning schedule.
    5. Team Coordination and Self-Management:
      • Champion self and others' training and development.
      • Participate in regular performance appraisals.
    6. Budget Management:
      • Drive area sales budget achievement in terms of volume.
    7. District Team Supervision:
      • Supervise merchandisers in respective stores.

    KPI's

    • Time to answer customer requests.
    • Calls per day (80% callage).
    • Drive sales volumes and value growth.

    Key Relationships

    Internal: Customer team, Operations Team, Customer Service Centre team

    External: Existing and potential retail, franchise, and wholesale customers

    Qualifications, Skills and Experience Required for the Job

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Matric
    • Marketing and sales degree or diploma (preferable)
    • Valid Code EB drivers' license
    • 1 to 2 years direct selling experience
