    Job Title: Production Assistant

    Production Assistant will be responsible for preparing and producing products according to specifications/standards, maintaining hygiene, housekeeping, and safe working standards. The role involves manufacturing/preparing and/or wrapping products according to specifications/standards, pricing random weight/loose selling items, checking correct pricing (labels), conducting quality checks, rotating stock, removing damaged/expired stock, preventing wastage/shrinkage/damages, checking temperatures/maintaining the cold chain, ensuring security procedures are adhered to, operating and cleaning equipment, approaching customers, providing required products/services, handling customers in a courteous and professional manner, processing customer orders, promoting products, communicating with employees, management, customers, and suppliers, and performing routine work accurately.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manufacture/preparing and/or wrapping products according to specifications/standards and daily/weekly budgets.
    • Correctly price random weight/loose selling items.
    • Check correct pricing e.g Labels.
    • Conduct regular quality checks, ensure that stock is rotated. Damaged/ expired stock is removed.
    • Prevent wastage/shrinkage/damages.
    • Check temperatures/maintain the cold chain.
    • Ensure that hygiene, housekeeping and safe working standards are maintained (floor back-up).
    • Ensure security procedures are adhered to.
    • Operate and clean equipment according to laid down standards.
    • Approach and advise customers on the product, listen to customers' requests, provide the required product or services and handle customers in a courteous and professional manner.
    • Process all customer orders according to the correct procedures and service standards.
    • Promote products.
    • Communicate effectively with employees, management, customers and suppliers.

    The ideal candidate should be able to manufacture/produce various meat products e.g sausage, mince etc., must be able to communicate in English, have a calm/patient attitude, be thorough/accurate, and a team player. This position requires transferability between stores and may involve other duties assigned from time to time.

    Requirements:

    • Good communication skills in English.
    • Calm/patient attitude.
    • Thorough/accurate.
    • Team player.
    • Able to manufacture/produce various meat products e.g sausage, mince etc.

    Estimated Salary:

    R 150,000 - R 180,000 per annum based on experience and qualifications.
