Job Purpose:

The Deli Assistant will be responsible for delivering outstanding service to customers, preparing and presenting deli products, and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Customer Service:
  • Greet customers warmly and assist them with their deli selections.
  • Provide product information and recommendations based on customer preferences.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally.
• Product Preparation:
  • Prepare, slice, weigh, and package deli products such as meats, cheeses, salads, and sandwiches.
  • Ensure all products are presented attractively and labeled accurately.
• Inventory Management:
  • Monitor stock levels, restock shelves, and ensure all products are fresh and within their sell-by dates.
  • Assist with inventory counts and notify management of any shortages or discrepancies.
• Sanitation and Safety:
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, utensils, and surfaces regularly.
  • Follow all safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Previous experience working in a deli, grocery store, or food service environment is preferred.
• Knowledge of deli products, food preparation, and food safety regulations.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
