Your Role

Reporting to the Commercial Director Southern Africa, the
Key Account Manager, Flavors South Africa will be responsible for achieving sustainable, measurable, and profitable sales growth for a diverse product portfolio of local and international clients within a dynamic and competitive industry.

You will define and drive Sales strategies in accordance with the agreed budget to enhance and re-enforce Symrise's reputation as an authoritative "world-wide and regional leader" in Flavors.


  • Utilize commercial acumen to identify key strategic growth opportunities and gotomarket strategies with relevance to countries, agents, business units and key accounts
  • Collaborate and work in close partnership with agents, supply chain, customer service and all relevant stakeholders, thus enabling sustainable EBITDA growth
  • Monitor and control pricing strategies, profitability, and expenditure
  • Anticipate and deliver on client needs
  • Presentations to internal stakeholders and clients on industry trends, concepts, business unit information, etc.
  • Processing brief information for new projects into technical department and back to client
  • Planning and maintaining product portfolio between client and Symrise operations
  • National and international travel dependent on customer location, business unit/other conferences

About You

  • University degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Food Technology, or another relevant discipline
  • At least 10 years of customer marketing experience in the Food, Flavors, or Ingredients industry; B2B market experience is advantageous
  • Strong commercial thinking, entrepreneurial drive, and business acumen
  • Proven ability to build sustainable relationships with team members and key stakeholders
  • Cultural awareness and ability to work in a diverse, multicultural matrix environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills
  • High degree of selfmotivation and mobility
  • Computer literacy (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint)
  • Business fluent English, both verbal and written
