Competence SA is seeking an experienced Electrical Construction Manager for our client, a leading company in the Renewables & Environment industry in the Western Cape.

As a Electrical Construction Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities pertaining to the construction, development and commissioning of the electrical infrastructure, i.e.

• Oversee the daytoday activities associated with the construction, development and commissioning of a wind or solar utility scale plant from start to finish.
• Collaborate closely with the engineering team to ensure projects are executed to the highest standards
• Manage budgets and timelines, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget
• Ensure site safety standards are met by communicating safety guidelines and guidelines like hazard analysis, progress reporting, and change control
• Scrutinizing service provider claims
• Supervise project teams, which may include onsite electrical staff, contractors, and other construction professionals
• Work with customers and stakeholders to understand their needs/expectations and ensuring these are met through effective communication and proper management
• Implement quality control measures to ensure the work meets the highest standard

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
• At least 7 years of experience in electrical construction management of solar or wind projects from startup to integration with the Eskomgrid
• Advanced skill MS Office and MS Projects
• Good knowledge of ISO systems
• Knowledge of Health and Safety management
• Analytical mindset and problemsolving skills
• Strong communication and leadership skills
