    Planning Role at Aberdare Cables Head Office

    This position is based in Pietermaritzburg and reports to the Manufacturing Manager.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Execute SAP transactions as required within authority limits, ensuring data integrity.
    • Action customer orders, scheduling production to meet deadlines.
    • Place orders on time, adhering to manufacturing lead times.
    • Distribute shop orders after each MRP run, prioritizing tasks.
    • Reroute workloads due to machine breakdowns, material shortages, or excessive demand.
    • Utilize and update shop order control systems daily.
    • Control relevant planning and production documentation.
    • Collaborate with Sales, Manufacturing, Despatch, and Supply Chain for demand understanding, material availability, expediting, and machine availability.
    • Ensure daily planning operations and administration are completed efficiently within SAP PP functionality.
    • Perform delegated tasks and duties as necessary.
    • Work closely with the SPA to meet DDDP and OTIF targets.

    Requirements:

    • A relevant qualification through PMI or equivalent Diploma/Degree level.
    • A minimum of 1 year's planning experience in a manufacturing industry.
    • Proficiency in SAP is highly advantageous.
    • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
    • The ability to work under pressure in a time-driven environment.
    • Good service record, self-motivated individual.
    • Aptitude for figures, attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Self-starter and proactive.
