Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in materials management or a related field is a plus
Proven experience as a Dispatch Supervisor or a similar role in a steel fabrication or materials handling environment
Strong knowledge and expertise in identifying various steel sections, tubes, sheets, and plates (Non-Negotiable)
Excellent organizational and leadership skills to effectively manage dispatch operations and lead a team
Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment and prioritize tasks to meet tight deadlines
Proficient in using computer software for inventory management and dispatch scheduling
Outstanding communication skills to interact with team members, logistics providers, and other departments effectively
A strong commitment to safety and the ability to implement and enforce safety protocols

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise and lead a team of dispatch personnel in efficiently managing the dispatch operations for steel sections, tubes, sheets, and plates
Utilize your expertise to accurately identify different types of steel sections, tubes, sheets, and plates to ensure proper dispatch and timely delivery
Coordinate with production and inventory teams to prioritize dispatch orders based on customer requirements and production schedules
Maintain and update records of inventory levels, dispatch schedules, and material movement to ensure accurate stock tracking and efficient utilization
Implement and enforce safety protocols to guarantee a safe working environment for dispatch personnel and minimize potential hazards during material handling
Collaborate with other departments to streamline processes, reduce downtime, and enhance overall dispatch efficiency
Monitor delivery schedules and liaise with logistics providers to ensure ontime deliveries and resolve any transportationrelated issues
Perform quality checks on dispatched materials to maintain the highest level of product quality and customer satisfaction
