    You will be responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of critical rotating machinery, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes. Your expertise in condition monitoring, vibration analysis, and performance optimization will enable you to diagnose faults proactively and recommend tailored solutions that minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

    Beyond technical execution, your role involves collaborating closely with clients, understanding their operational challenges, and delivering solutions that align with their business goals. Through your leadership in the field, you will mentor junior technicians, drive continuous improvement, and uphold the highest standards of safety and quality.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, maintain, and optimize equipment such as pumps, compressors, turbines, and gearboxes to enhance operational efficiency and minimize downtime.
    • Apply technical expertise, data-driven diagnostics, and innovative problem-solving to deliver cost-effective and sustainable solutions.
    • Proactively identify potential failures and implement corrective actions to reduce maintenance costs, improve safety, and increase asset availability.
    • Provide leadership and mentorship, guiding junior technicians and ensuring compliance with industry best practices, safety standards, and quality procedures.
    • Foster strong client relationships and understand their unique operational challenges to ensure that Sebenzana remains a trusted partner in rotating equipment services.

    Requirements

    • BEng or BSc Degree or equivalent in electrical/mechanical engineering.
    • Professionally registered engineer certification will be advantageous.
    • >= 15 years of rotating equipment industry experience with a track record in solving complex problems on various types of rotating equipment sets such as steam turbines, gas turbines, pumps, compressors, and reciprocating engines.
    • Proven track record in effective problem-solving capability within the various industries through project references.
    • Extensive experience in rotordynamics and vibrations.
    • Experienced in rotating equipment design and engineering analysis (CAD, FEA etc.).
    • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for data analysis, planning, and reporting.

    Essential Skills:

    • Design — Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
    • Engineering and Technology — Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.
    • Mechanical — Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
    • Administrative — Knowledge of administrative and drawing office procedures and systems.
