    We are seeking a competent IT Support Technician to manage, maintain, and troubleshoot our client's computer systems, new applications and software, East Rand

    Overview:
    In this role, you'll diagnose and fix computer problems, install software, conduct system tests, and instruct staff on how to use various programs. In addition, you will handle system maintenance, ensure smooth system operations, and respond swiftly to IT-related issues.

    Responsibilities:
    • Oversee the roll-out of new applications and software.
    • Respond to IT-related inquiries and issues promptly and within the assigned SLA.
    • Create new support tickets, manage open cases and prioritize them based on urgency.
    • Install new software on users' machines and handle password issues.
    • Train staff on new software
    • Set up accounts and profiles for new users.
    • Escalate technical issues to appropriate experts for quick resolutions.
    • Maintain a proactive approach to problem-solving by taking ownership of issues and seeing them through to resolution.
    • Support staff with system setups or troubleshooting, either face-to-face or via telephone.

    Qualifications:
    • A minimum of Matric (Grade 12) or NQF equivalent.
    • N+ and A+ certification.
    • Certificate in Technical Support.
    • MCSE/MCSA, System Support, and LPIC-1 certifications are desirable.

    Experience:
    • At least two years of experience in Information Technology.
    • Broad understanding of computer hardware and software, operating systems, and basic programming.
    • Experience with Linux and Internet applications/security is a plus.

    Skills:
    • Ability to manage high-traffic systems, and multitask effectively in busy times.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and Linux-based software.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
    • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting abilities.
    • Proficiency in accounting and word-processing software.
