    As a Seasonal Hostess at De laire Graff Restaurant, you will be the first point of contact for our guests and play a key role in providing exceptional customer service.

    Responsibilities:

    • Welcome guests to the venue and ensure a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
    • Coordinate with fellow hostesses to manage reservations, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for all guests.
    • Escort guests to assigned dining or bar areas, providing them with menus and announcing their waiter/waitress name.
    • Develop and implement floor plans for both lunch and dinner services, taking into account guest preferences and restaurant operations.
    • Collaborate with senior chefs to stay informed about menu changes and updates.
    • Transition between lunch and dinner services seamlessly, adjusting menus and table arrangements accordingly.
    • Prepare detailed handover sheets for each shift, ensuring that all necessary information is communicated to colleagues.
    • Greet guests upon their departure, thanking them for their visit and encouraging repeat business.
    • Maintain a clean and organized hostess desk, handling incoming calls and addressing guest queries in a professional manner.
    • Stay informed about the estate and local area, providing guests with recommendations and insights as needed.
    • Communicate VIP visits to managers and waiters promptly, ensuring that these special guests receive the highest level of attention.
    • Familiarize yourself with reservation policies, including booking times and procedures.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 education, with a hospitality certificate being a plus.
    • 1-2 years of previous hostess experience, preferably in a high-end establishment.
    • Understanding of restaurant etiquette and protocols.
    • Proven ability to manage reservations and coordinate with colleagues.
    • Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone.
    • Demonstrable customer-service skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
    • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Availability to work within opening hours, including evenings, public holidays, and weekends.
    • Good physical condition, with the ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
    • Confidence in interacting with distinguished clientele and handling high-pressure situations.
    • A well-presented and enthusiastic personality, with a strong sense of accountability and flexibility.
