    Job Title: Graduate Tailings Engineer

    We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Graduate Tailings Engineer to join our Mine Waste team on an internship basis in Midrand.

    This is an entry-level position in the consulting team, where you will work with specific and regular direction from intermediate and senior staff. You will contribute to projects with a major focus on data collection and processing, providing tailings services and technical advice on moderate complex tailings issues to clients (internal) on projects within the mining industry.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Conduct data collection and processing for projects related to mine waste storage facilities, tailings deposits, and water storage dams.
    • Analyze tailings and geotechnical reporting for projects which may include the design and inspection of mine waste storage facilities, the construction of tailings deposits, the operation and management of deposits, properties and behavior of tailings, closure and deposits stability and seeping analysis.
    • Provide technical advice on moderate complex tailings issues to clients (internal) on projects within the mining industry.

    Requirements:

    • BEng or BSc degree in Civil Engineering with 0-2 years working experience.
    • Honors degree in the Geotechnical field preferred.
    • Candidate registration at ECSA preferred.
    • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel (Advanced), MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook, MS Projects.
