A Temporary vacancy x 2 exists in the Paint Projects Engineering which forms parts of the Production Engineering Division. This position reports to the Manager: Projects and will focus on the plant preparations activities towards New Model Introduction including planning, coordination of FETS (Facility installations), improving production quality and supporting currently challenges to achieve successful future projects.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Project Management – Manage and lead Projects from Planning stage to implementation, Control & Costing
• Safety – Evaluate Safety Risks, Ergonomics Risks, Perform KY on all projects, Ensure robust ∆S process design
• Quality – Manage Paint Engineering QC processes, Built in Quality on new processes, Dirt Kaizen
• Stable Production – Facility modification for Projects, Manage Project Trials within Plant, Work Elements for new processes
• People Development – Planning of member development and training, Complete CPTF
• Cost – Manage Project budget, Investigate/ study variable and fixed cost reduction activities
• Information Management – Engineering Process Changes, Information Systems & Management Reports
• Ensure compliance to ISO & SHE standards for facilities, equipment and systems
• Productivity & Efficiency improvements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
• NQF 6 Engineering Qualification (minimum 360 credits)
• Experience in a relevant Engineering/ Manufacturing environment is essential
• Project management experience essential.
• Good Technical knowledge of Paint Plant Process
• Paint Plant experience essential
• Good working knowledge of Toyota production systems (TPS).
• High level of computer literacy required (MS Office, Teams)
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 & 14001 advantageous
• Shift work, overtime (including Sat & Sun) and stand-by
