Title: Senior AWS Cloud Engineer
Region: Gauteng Type: Contractor

We are in need of a Senior AWS Cloud Engineer at one of our financial services customers, with experience in implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS.
• Understand DevOps and pipeline configuration
• Implement automation and orchestration techniques to streamline deployment processes.
• Ensure high availability, performance, and security of cloud-based applications and services.
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate cloud services into applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure and applications.
• Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and governance.
• Stay updated with the latest AWS technologies and trends, and evaluate their potential impact on our infrastructure.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role, with a focus on AWS.
• n-depth knowledge of AWS services, such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, IAM, etc.
• Hands-on experience with cloud automation and configuration management tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
• Strong understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and routing.
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• AWS certification (AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Cloud Practitioner).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with other cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
