Location:

Reports to:Financial Manager


POSITION OBJECTIVE
A highly motivated Financial Accountant is needed to join the finance department.

The role involves accounting for investment entities, ensuring regulatory compliance - such as Income Tax, VAT, PAYE, Provisional Tax, CIPC, COIDA etc, as well as making use of our General Ledger and Finance ERP systems.

Relevant experience in providing financial and HR support is required.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. INVESTMENT ENTITIES REPORTING AND ACCOUNTING
Manage and maintain accurate financial records for our Investment Entities.
Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts for entities, including
Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Trial Balance and supporting schedules.
Ensure compliance with IFRS and company accounting policies.
Preparation and performance of reconciliations.
Pull and extract relevant data per entity and ensure accuracy against source documents.
Prepare and record journal entries.
Liaise with Investment Entity finance departments.
Assist with yearly audits (financial and BBBEE).
Provide timeous information and reporting to reporting manager and reporting entity executives.


2. REGULATORY COMPLIANCE
Stay updated on tax laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with tax authorities.
Submit accurate and timely tax filings.
Monitor and ensure compliance with the Companies and Intellectual Property
Commission (CIPC) requirements.


3. GENERAL LEDGER AND FINANCE ERP
Utilize and maintain General Ledger software to record, classify, and reconcile financial transactions.
Actively contribute to the development and optimization of our Finance ERP system.
Generate financial reports and assist in budgeting and forecasting processes.

HR TASKS:

Handle various HR-related tasks, such as payroll, benefits administration, and employee onboarding/offboarding.
Collaborate with HR personnel to ensure accurate financial reporting related to
HR activities.
Ensure positive work environment.
Knowledge on recruitment process
Assist with HR administration function.


QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in financial accounting and reporting.
In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance.
Proficiency in General Ledger software and Finance ERP systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in handling HR-related tasks is a significant advantage.
