AREA MANAGER / EAST LONDON - Responsible for the operations of multiple restaurants within a designated area with the primary responsibility and accountability to achieve Employee P & L, Customer, Profits and Sales targets and operational efficiencies and excellence within Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and set policies and procedures. The position requires weekend work, is field orientated and extensive travel.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12
Degree Level qualification (Bcom advantageous)
Valid Code 08 Drivers License
5-6 years overall experience
Operations Management experience
HCI SIG overall minimum score

Build people capability through execution of the Area Bench Planning and internal promotion processes within each one of the restaurants.
Work effectively with functional support partners to drive business results.
Recognition - Ensure that recognition programmes are in place and alive.
Recruitment, selection, and placement - Evaluate and asses recruiting readiness and implement plan.
Employee relations - Ensure that compliance to legislation is adhered to.
Performance management - Set clear objectives for RGM and manage performance.
Training - Ensure that a restaurant and area training plan is in place.
Induction - Responsible for the initiation of management staff under control.
Personal development - Conduct individual developmental discussions (IDPs) as well as Goals & Results with restaurant management team.
Drive Customer mania by ensuring restaurant teams achieve ROCC standards and deliver 100% CHAMPS with a YES Attitude.
Demonstrate "TEAMWORK" by holding regular area meetings, effectively resolving concerns, and ensuring resources are shared.
Coach and support management teams to improve performance and provide training for them to do their jobs well.

Ensure that all restaurants implement Customer Mania initiatives, e.g., Feel Good Factor Programme and reports are generated to track progress and any business improvements.
Demonstrate operational excellence by handling customer concerns on the spot and by helping management teams and Team Members resolve customer concerns.
Continuously coaches RGM around ROCC standards to enhance customer service and ensure returned business.
Demonstrate operational excellence by ensuring COS, COL and semi-variable standards are executed in the restaurant.
Set clear guidelines for RGMs to involve their teams in setting and reaching restaurant goals.
Uses BSC, P&L and appropriate reports to analyse business and establish and execute tactics for improvement.
Manage controllable and variable expenses of variable costs and identify corrective actions for semi variable variances.
Cash handling management - Ensure that cash handling and banking procedures are followed in restaurants and that spot checks are carried out periodically.
Demonstrates operational excellence by teaching RGMs how to use BSC, P&L and appropriate reports to analyse their business to establish and execute tactics for improvement.
Coach RGMs to understand and use restaurant management reports and devise action plans in areas of concern.
Drive RGM accountability for growing sales by ensuring great CHAMPS execution (BYA or better OSAT and ROCC) and driving local store marketing.
Local Store Marketing - Ensure that an LSM plan is in place and executed.
Prepare and present a periodic business review and thereafter outline action plans.
Maximise sales through operational excellence
Effective implementation of marketing promotions and identifying and recommending sales growth opportunities
Coordinate price changes and keep abreast of competitive activities within area and recommend action
Initiate ideas for LSM activities and the execution thereof
Competencies
Ability to speak, read and write English fluently
